Every good night aboard starts before the first line is cast off.
A note from the captain to our guests and future passengers.
One of the easiest mistakes in this business is thinking the experience starts when the boat leaves the dock. It does not. It starts with the drive onto Harbor Island, the first sight of the marina, the walk toward the gangway, and the moment a guest stops feeling like they are in transit and starts feeling like they have arrived.
That is why we are getting more deliberate about boarding information. The more clearly we explain where JADA sits, how early to arrive, and what to expect once you reach the marina, the smoother the whole evening becomes. A guest who feels rushed at the dock stays rushed longer than they should. A guest who feels welcomed settles almost immediately.
Our berth at the Sheraton on Harbor Island gives us a beautiful beginning when it is handled properly. The hotel behind, the marina in view, the city across the water, planes coming and going overhead, and the quiet confidence of a classic yacht waiting at the slip. That first impression matters. It tells people what kind of evening they are about to have.
We also know practical details matter just as much as romance. Parking. rideshare drop-off. where to carry the wine. when to step aboard. where the restroom is before departure. All of those little things help guests feel at ease, and ease is what lets the boat do her real work.
The goal is simple: by the time we cast off, nobody should still be thinking about logistics. They should be looking out at the water, hearing the crew, and feeling the harbor open up around them.
