JADA | Captain's Log
February 17, 2026

The standard aboard is seamanship first, hospitality right behind it.

A note from the captain to every guest who wants to know what makes them feel safe aboard.

Guests may book JADA for the history, the views, or the occasion, but what lets them relax is competence. They can feel it even if they cannot name it. They notice how the crew moves, how instructions are given, how lines are handled, and how the boat is prepared before they ever step aboard.

That is why crew standards matter so much. Sail JADA's captains are licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and bring decades of experience handling large sailing vessels in and around San Diego. That experience shapes everything else. Hospitality lands differently when it sits on top of real seamanship.

We want guests to ask questions. About the harbor. About the yacht. About what they are seeing under way. A confident crew does not hide behind mystery. The right answer, given calmly, makes people feel more included in the life of the boat.

At the same time, professionalism does not have to feel stiff. Some of the best crews make a vessel feel both safe and welcoming. They can pour a drink, tell a story about the bay, and still keep one eye on the boat the entire time. That blend is what we aim for.

Good hosting on the water begins with respect for the water. When that standard is kept, guests feel free to enjoy the rest.
