Community Guidelines
JADA — The Queen of San Diego
JADA has sailed San Diego Bay for decades. The people who have come aboard — families, couples, history lovers, first-time sailors — share something: they chose to spend a few hours on the water together. This community is an extension of that spirit. We want the conversation to feel like the deck does: open air, real people, good company.
A few simple rules keep it that way.
Be the guest you'd want aboard
Treat every person in this community the way you'd treat someone you just met on the water — with basic respect, curiosity, and good faith. Disagreements happen; personal attacks don't belong here.
Specifically, please don't:
- Insult, harass, or target other members
- Post hate speech, slurs, or content that demeans people based on identity
- Share someone else's private information without their permission
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Spam the thread with promotional links or off-topic material
- Post content that is sexually explicit or graphically violent
Stay on topic
JADA's community is about San Diego Bay, maritime history, sailing, private events, and the life that happens on the water. Comments that are wildly off-topic may be moved or removed — not to police opinion, but to keep the conversation useful for everyone reading.
How moderation works
We read every comment. Your first post goes into a brief moderation queue before appearing publicly. Once your account is established, posts go up immediately.
We may:
- Edit a comment to remove a link or small portion that violates these guidelines, leaving the rest intact
- Hide a comment that breaks the rules (you will be notified)
- Remove a comment that is severe or repeated
- Suspend or permanently ban an account for serious or repeated violations
We do our best to be consistent. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, email admin@queenofsandiego.com and we will take a second look.
No commercial use
This is a community, not a marketplace. Do not use comment threads to advertise products or services. One mention of your own relevant work in a clearly relevant context is fine; repeated self-promotion is not.
Legal reminders
By posting, you confirm that your comment is your own, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe any copyright, trademark, or privacy right. You grant JADA operations a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your comment on the JADA sites.
You retain ownership of what you write. We are not responsible for member-posted content, but we will respond to valid legal notices.
Our commitment
JADA operations will not use your community account, your comments, or your profile information to send you commercial messages you have not opted into, share your data with advertisers, or identify you to third parties except as required by law. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
